In the past I always had my boss fill out an envelope for Immigration to return my passport and Arc when they were through processing the paper work so I would not have to make a return visit to pick it up. This year my boss said Immigration has changed the rules since Jan. and I must pick it up in person. I am to busy to go there and my passport has been sitting in their office now for about three months now. My question is has anyone had their passport and ARC returned to them by post since Jan.1 ? |

I was at immigration yesterday (and the day before and a couple of days before that) and they had the envelopes there and a notice on the wall that says they do it. 3 months ago, who knows? |

I was in yesterday, too. My new boss filled out the envelope and signed the book register for Immi to mail mine back. The lady behind the counter said it will take 10 days. |

I called and tried talking to the Immigration office friday to find out if the story is true or not, I cannot speak Korea and they didn't understand what I was inquiring about so I hung up. Does anyone here speak enough Korea to call for me? This is the number for my local office 041-681-6181 |

I received a notice in the mail from Immigration waaaaay back in August 2005. The notice was to notify me of the Sejongro branch office where you can apparently register (I guess that means get your ARC) and also complete a variety of Immigration services. Also available is the courier service which costs 5000 won within Seoul and 7000 won inside of .

wait a sec...are you saying that you've been living in a foreign country for 3 months without a passport and national ID? Really smart. Take some of your precious time and go pick the f-u-c-k-i-n-g things up. If it's work that is the problem then simply tell your boss you need to leave earlier or come in later. jeez. |

Your boss should be helping you with this, if he won't give you some time off......at least he should give you a lift down to immigration before work to pick the things up. |

I actually don't mind the trip to pick up my passport/arc. I'd rather get it personally than trust the mail. |
