Where's the strictest office? I've heard the one in Uijongbu, which also covers Ilsan and some other areas, may be the strictest in Korea. Seoul (Mokdong) is strict too.

Some smaller places are perhaps more lenient. I have got the feeling that it is more lenient outside Gyeonggi do.

Not sure about Busan.

Now that things have become tighter, has anyone experienced differences in different areas?

Daegu took my opened transcripts (thanks to my director). Not sure if it was a favor, or connection, or something else fishy. But they took it.

Suwon is not a picnic. I think every person has different experiences..but Suwon could be the worst.

I've had no problems at all with Mokdong, most times I've been in and out in 10 minutes even applying for an ARC. My new school got my visa issuance # within a week of me signing the contract.

I think it also depends on your schools rep with immigration. If your school has been good, greased enough palms etc then you likely will have few problems.

Immigration by the US Embassy is also really cool, they also don't have the waits

I loved dealing with the one in Ulsan. They were sweethearts, really! Now I deal with Uijeongbu....or, actually, my boss does. So, if there are any difficulties, he's the one dealing with it and I know nothing.

Ive dealt with Masan and Mokdong. Both were pretty good. Mokdong is really good. They never gave me any hassles. I didnt even need to do an interview for my F5. Ill never have to deal with any of them ever again but Mokdong is good.

I think it's down to the individual immigration officials rather than the immigration office as a whole. I have heard people say Mokdong is terribly strict, and that Suwon is great. On here I am hearing the opposite.
