I want my 2 and a half hours back. Felt more like 5.

Take me behind the chemical sheds and shoot me.

This movie was painfully embarrassing to watch. The only reason I didn't walk out was because I was with 2 friends.

Don't be taken in as I was by the Wachowski brothers name on the screenplay or the prestige review in Time Magazine. V is for Vomit and you want to avoid it.

Some are accusing it of glorifying terrorism. Is the movie's problem really that blunt and simple?

This movie is getting very mixed reviews:

After reading the reviews (and particularly the readers' reviews at the bottom) I'm inclined to think Privateer is right and yet curious to see for myself what it is that is so divisive about the movie.

Yeah it was crap. I thought it would have been hell of a lot better.

Although I had a chance to watch a Russian flick and I loved it..

If you guys have a chance watch Night Watch I really enjoyed.

The original comics were decent, but not really worthy of being made into a movie. It was supposed to be a critique of Thatcherism, not today's situation.

I don't think it ascends to the level of raising issues worthy of discussion. It's an awful movie. The End.

If you are an American this is one movie you need to see. It is very close to what is happening right now in your own country. Look closer at the themes my friend.

Either you totally don't understand or understand all too well human beings. The title of this thread will most definitely ensure that a lot of people who wouldn't have watched the movie now will Wink

My consolation is anyone whose response to this thread is to go see the damn movie deserves the suffering they will experience!

Or maybe if you're as dumb as all that you won't notice how bad it is and you won't suffer? There's no justice.

Just my 2 bits here. I really enjoyed the movie. It was indeed sluggish at times, but this because the makers wanted to give people time to think. If you have spent any time in a History class however, you will have already thought through the same arguments that film wants to make, so this process is sped up considerably. I started to just enjoy the mere theatricality of the film, there are many highly original moments, and the sets are really done well. V's dialogue alone would ingratiate many people to the film. The erudite and pithy segues that V goes on should have impressed most English teachers, but strangely it does not seem to have gauging by the reactions on this thread, oh well, some people are not easily pleased. The themes of the film are slightly revlutionary, but they are at times too dummied down. I actually found myself equating the character of V to a suicide bomber, even though he was combatting Fascism. Any hoo the film is quite entertaining and beautiful. Suggestion one: don't go drunk or distracted because the film's appeal is the way it invites discussion and controversy.

I'm with the rest who will likely go see it because someone told me not to ... and I give thanks to the OP for the incentive.

IMDB voters gave it an 8.2 out of 10.

Saw it last night and enjoyed it.

The story line was a lot tighter than the matrix but the themes and message were a little similar.

I think the best achievement in the film was managing to give a guy in a mask a charismatic character.

it shows how much of a cop out the judge dredd film was when the excuse for taking off the mask was that nobody could buy into a character who didn't have facial expressions.

The film a bit juvenile and daft at times but i found it entertaining despite that.

I think the people who will be disappointed are the ones who are expecting a action filled fight fest. They should go and see the new film by the Ong Bak guy instead.
