Is there nothing they can do to solve the issue which is causing you to want to leave? |

I have no idea what the regulations are for an F-4 visa holder. Aside from whatever those might be, are you 100% certain you want to burn that bridge behind you? If leaving is what is best for you, go for it, but try to do it in a manner which allows you to hold your head up and smile at any of the people there if you run into them on the street. |

U R a shining example of why schools don't trust any foreign eslteachers.
look..be a man. State why you are leaving first. At least then there is a chance of the conditions being fixed for the next teacher who replaces you.
And If things are really that bad, it may be because you failed to communicate/negotiate in the first place. |

I worked for such a company and we had to finally install a revolving door to accommodate the turnover of F-4s. I eventually gave up trying to learn their names. The worst that could happen is that you may lose some pay.
Maybe yours is the same company I worked for. If so, tell Jinny I said get f****d. |

True, as hard as it is not to, burning bridges is never a good idea. |

for the record, it's not a teaching gig.
second, this is a bridge i don't mind burning. third, this is a rare instance where telling them would bring more trauma and emotional doo doo then not telling.
lastly, what's wrong with giving a company a taste of their own medicine, especially when they treat other workers just as bad, if not worse?
i was only worrying about the legal ramifications. call me cold, but i honestly don't care about bridge burning in THIS situation. |

Just leave. You don't need to justfy your reasons, it certainly sounds like there won't be any repercussions. All the best with your next gig. |

Well if it really is as bad as it sounds..then just dissapear.
if you intend to fly out the same day I'm sure legal ramifications aren't an issue.
if you intend to stay in korea and work elsewhere, I assume you will need your employer to nullify your E2 at immigration first. |

I say if it's bad enough walk out the door. To the person who made the comment about foreign teachers getting a bad rap, it's not entirely our fault.
A large number of hagwan owners (or directors) will try to screw you if they get the chance. For instance, trying to change the terms of your contract when it suits their fancy.
I say f***'em
I just went through an ordeal with my last school that was a large chain (which I can only mention had the letter "y" in the name). I did in fact give two weeks notice and they tried to make me sign something within the last week that would have allowed them to say I was fired. This is after I was told I had to sign documents (a teacher code of conduct) 7 months in to my contract. |

grow some balls and let them know you're quitting. if the school treats you like crap that's still not enough reason to just take off without notice. the ones who will suffer in the end are YOUR STUDENTS. |

If you give notice there can't be any legal ramifications.I don't see how there can be any legal ramifications for just quitting on the spot either. You may lose some pay for not giving notice but thats about all they can do.this is not North korea. Just tell them, and do it.
getting a new job on an F4 won't be a problem. |
