now i realise that i am going to get ripped to shreds for this.i'm 27 and have never had to put together a resume for catering jobs let alone one for esl positions.i've tried to put one together tailoring it to esl but is any kind soul willing to cast their more experienced eye over it?i haven't put it on the site for a couple of reasons mostly because i don't know how to and would rather e-mail it to someone if they are willing.i know it's pathetic but i've been lucky enough to be offered every job i've had without interview or application.yes, i am prepared for the wave of negative comments that will come my way.
this is actually quite embaresing.(i'm so humilated i can't even spell proper!) |

Is the catering industry in Snotland profitable? Do you guys eat any food that doesn't involve bloody cream with intestines? Do you guys use heroin instead of salt on your bangers and mash?
Just curious... |

Also don't forget a cover letter.
I can write a good resume but have never prepared one for ESL. From what I have read keep it simple and short.
I 'm in the process of learning how to prepare one for the net. |

| As a previous poster wrote; keep it simple. I used to write resumes/cvs as a biz. A simplified cv/resume is best in applying for ESL jobs. |

Dear Madam / Sir,
I really want to work and teach in Korea. I have friends who have done it and really recommend it. I have Korean friends in Canada who are great and the type of people I'd love to live around all the time. All I've heard about Korea sounds wonderful.
I really love working with kids and in my experience I get along with them reall well. I speak English very clearly and look really good. I'm a hard worker, I adapt easity to new environments, I like working evenings, I really want to spend at least one year working in a new country, and I think I'll make a good teacher. Once I start something I don't quit.
I have notarised copies of my BA degree and certified, sealed copies of my transcripts along with photocopies of my passport that I'm ready to send as soon as you can send me a contract to sign. I've never worked in Korea before and have all the documents I need ready to go. I can start work as soon as possible. Please contact me by telephone _______________ or email ________________ as soon as possible. Thanks for your time. |

| You have a legitimate university degree (ie BA), right? You're not just in touch with a Korean recruiter who claims you don't need a BA or he can hook you up with a bit of paper that's just as good as a BA, huh? |

Mindmetoo is right....if you've never put together a resume before, I wonder if you have completed university. You can't teach English in Korea without a degree.
If you're going to come to Korea, you need to do your research. Otherwise you'll end up working at Wonderland and doing a midnight run in three months. |

Seriously if the guy doesn't have a degree and is being fixed up by a recruiter, the recruiter is fixing up a lot of other teachers. Sooner or later one of those teachers is going to slip up, a bar fight or get caught in an immi sweep. He'll sing, turn in his recruiter. And the recruiter will hand over his contact list. And the OP is going to end up in an immi jail cell.
And then the rest of us are going to have to pay again with another call for sealed transcripts and degree checks... |
