You gotta at least be in the ballpark with your misspellings. Damn.

Gotta agree with the Knife here. Laughing

If you are looking for an English teacher position...it would be nice if you spelled the most important words correctly.

And this isn't exactly the place you should be looking for a job anyway.

What's the matter with you?

I am surprised at the nasty turn many of these threads have taken. I, like Sammym turn to these forums for guidance and advice in expanding our little worlds. I was wondering how many of you "seasoned" veterans weathered the storm of "not-knowing" what to do or where to go.

I myself am in the process of gathering as much information as I can via forums just like this one. I must say that witnessing such cruelty is a bit disheartening. Most people on this site are extremely helpful and forthcoming with helpful, if not detrimental information. And I personally thank everyone, but can we do without the mundane attacks on grammar?

That is hilarious!! What a pompous attitude to have. English at one time did not belong to the English; it began as a Germanic language. Besides, the "English" are behind the times. I think that more than half of the prospective job posts I come across requiring a North American accent proves it. I believe too boring was the reason given for not wanting British teachers.

Maybe we can do without the mundane attacks on an entire country too? I see that you really do need to expand the little world you live in.

Aha, here we go. I am sorry, did you not read the prior posting...you know....the one that I was responding to. And of course you are saying that it is NOT in fact pompous to think "Brit" English is superior? The rest of my post was merely relaying the seniments of prospective employers. Shoot the messenger? Nice try!

How am I saying that?

Nice try. I am guessing this topic comes up a lot while you are talking to employers in Korea. And for you to have talked to so many to make this a fact is quite a feat.

Now that's funny. I mean, for somebody to compare my medial rejection of Brit snobbery to an all out assault on somebody asking for job information.

I thought you needed thick skin to be an ESL teacher in Korea. I have been proven wrong. My comments did not merit your attack. I apologize if I have offended your country, your monopoly on the English language, and exposing the big chip on your shoulder.

To be honest, you are probably a bit too early for a position starting in August. I would suggest you start looking in June.

Korean employers aren't known for their advance planning abilities Smile

Actually, I am Canadian with an American accent. Not one hint of Brit accent in there Smile

BTW, you said all Brits were boring. That's not medial.

I guess I should explain why I posted this attack here. You were commenting on people attacking due to grammar, and this board could do with less of that. Made me think of the post in the other thread.

Good comeback. Insulting Canadians and Brits in the first few posts. Good job, you should do well on this forum. We need more Americans like you to spice things up Smile

Bingo! I mean...wait a minute...what the huh?

My post fits perrrfectly into your "helpful/detrimental" mold. I both corrected his flagrant mistake ("posions"), and b*tch slapped him down for making it. Helpful. Detrimental! So what are you b*tchin' and moanin' about?

Clue. Get one.
