It's kind of a milestone for me on this forum because it was my first interaction with Joo.

Final judgement: The doggy treatment was BAD.

It's no longer an issue of poster opinion.

Next up: Gitmo

Indeed.

It is not a bad thing if Santa Claus if some grape nuts from Al Qaida suffered it.

You are so schmurglenurglewitz.

Justice has been served.

Do blither on.

Next up: Gitmo

Post corrected. You know your case is weak if the best you can come up with is a typo.

Yes we ought not to wish bad things on our enemies. Rolling Eyes

Especially when we know what Al Qaeda fights for.

Al Qaeda is a hate group which fights for a fascist caliphate where all those of other religions would be expelled , enslaved or killed.

Gitmo? US justice system can't handle Al Qaeda unless their are some built in advantages for the US government for rules of evidence.

Yeah,

That gobbledy-gook was a typo.

Torture and cross your fingers, eh?

We fight for justice. We don't define our morals by our enemy.

We fight when it's the last resort, nothing less.

Indulge in anything less and you wish it on yourself.

John McCain convinced me of how the US ought to act. The US ought not to be connected with or involved in such acts.

However why ought anyone be upset at what an Al Qaeda fighter suffers?

The US was attacked on 9-11 and before 9-11 but 9-11 was the thing that confirmed what was going on.

Wait around for something worse?

Destroying Al Qaeda and forcing a bunch of governments and non state actors in the mideast to give up their war is morally justified. They don't have a right to their war.

It is the last resort.

The US still has the moral high ground , and it is not even close.

And I haven't heard a peep from McCain about how this treatment was correct, just as the military said it was wrong, and you are left alone arguing about how it was right.

It wasn't.

Justice has been served.

Apparently your version of "justice" is not sanctioned by anybody.

But howl on.

My point was that although the US ought not to be doing that sort of thing, that it was done to someone who may have been Al Qaeda changes what was going on.

If the US picked up a guy off the street cause he was an Iraqi and the US doesn't like Iraqis that is one thing.

However if guy was Al Qaeda then well it wasn't such a horrible thing in the scheme of things. If he was Al Qaeda then he wasn't innocent.

Doing something to an innocent person is one thing , doing it to a guilty person is another.

Should the US ought to do such stuff no ( except for the more extreme cases ) . But only for our benefit - not cause of how it affects Al Qaeda guys.

Ought the police department kill a rapist when they catch him? No . Cause of the effect on them. Would it be a terrible thing if the rapist was killed - no.

I used to be against the death penalty cause I didn't think the it was the place of government to be carrying out exections.

I am not sure about it nowadays.

However in the war on terror information saves lives. As much as I think that that Al Qaeda fighters deserve whatever they get . Torture as punishment has no place in the American way. I hope god tortures the Al Qaeda fighters, I will not pray for their souls. In fact I wish them to burn in hell for eternity. That pretty much sums up how I feel about the situation at this moment.

But more important than what is above what if harsh interragations produce information that saves American lives?

I have a lot of respect for McCain and I will defer to opinion of the matter. However I don't like the idea of taking any power or option away from those fighting the war.
