Our school has contracts at various companies and universities around town so those 2 hours are spent sitting in a car travelling back and forth...one more thing that wasn't in the contract. The actual walk to school only takes about 13 mins...

The contracted working hours are 30, although they frequently go up to about 35, with overtime pay of course. As I say, the school is fairly legit.

The only problem is the late finishes. Everything else I can deal with...the split basically turns work into a 24 hour day with less than 8 hours between the end of my last class and the time I have to get up...I can't do this for much longer.

I worked for a hagwon in Jinju that had me going to teach at various elementary schools, public corporations, summer school programs and high schools in addition to the hagwon. This sounds similar to your situation (though my hours were not as bad in regards to early, late, or split shift); however, I MUST CAUTION YOU THAT THIS IS ILLEGAL AND YOUR BOSS KNOWS IT (OR SHOULD). YOU CAN ONLY WORK LEGALLY FOR ONE SCHOOL -- THE HAGWON. When I returned to Korea to work at my present position the Immigration Department saw all those institutions on my CV and fined my former hagwon (threatened to send the Director to jail) and I had to write a letter of apology (stating I did not know that working under my hagwon contract I could not work at all those other institutions without separate contracts and Immigration approval and I didn't mean to break Korean law. This is the law regardless of whether your hagwon has contracts with the others or not). You therefore have an excellent legal standing -- approach the Director and get things sorted out legally and your schedule then will certainly be more manageable without all those "outside" jobs.

I hope they have okayed this with immigration.

It is illegal to work at more than one location if it isn't approved by immigration. If they have approved it, it will be written on the back of your Alien Regisration Card by the immigration office.

No matter what your boss says or who he supposedly knows, it's illegal until it's on that card. If you get caught you get fined and deported, and your boss gets a slap on the wrist.

Yep, if any workplace other than your primary workplace (hagwon) isn't on the arc card, then it is illegal. You should be paid for travel time and travel expenses between mulitiple workplaces that the school is sending you to. Also, if the distance is rather far (such as a neighbouring city) then you should be paid more.

However, your hours are really crazy! If you're not happy, then get out of dodge. You can definitely find a school with better hours that what you're working.

Illegal!

ANY outside work from your hakwon MUST be written on the back of your card. Refuse to do them.

One of the most important things that should be in a contract is a definite schedule. From said time to said time. Sounds like you don't have that.

well hunny you should have explained those are not the full working hours...

in any case he has u working 330 to like 930 or whatever and then makes u come in at like 8 to teach for one hour?

this is a total inconsiderate pig, in this way anyhow.. either he is totally clueless, or just ruthlessly thinks his contract employers are slaves.
