Hi everyone-

I have been in contact with a couple of recruiters and so far have had very little luck. I am starting to get nervous because I am finished with my current job in the US this coming Friday and thought I would have a position in Seoul by now.

Is it worth it to just come over and find a job? Will it be easier to find a position this way? I am not looking for anything crazy. Would like to start at the end of April/Early May. I actually would like to teach kids!

Any advice and info is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

The best thing you can do is come over and look. If you have cash, don't hesitate. It's best to pick an area to work though and then look at all the jobs there. Keep applying from back home though. Set up some meetings with schools and get them to send you the contracts. Take your time.

Recruiters get lazy, as they only need one hit per week or so to make enough cash at it. And a lot of them just do it as a PT hobby.
Post your resume up on this site, and you should get inundated. Check out some other sites that have job noticeboards too.

Be proactive. Don't rely on anyone. Hve many options cooking at once. Go all out full force in finding a job. Don't trust a recruiter/school unless you have reasonable grounds to do so. It's your responsibility to get the job you want best. Some think coming here first is best, others don't.. that's up to you.

Strangely, my school is having trouble finding people who can start at the end of April/beginning of May. I sense a conspiracy somewhere. Laughing
