Ok, this one is sad, yet very funny in a twisted sort of way.

Someone has been stealing stuff in our garage. Someone stole my helmet off of my motorcycle. Other things belonging to others have disappeared.

I now know who was stealing. Only this time, I think they learned their lesson.

Read on...

Koreans are all about recycling things, and some of this practice has rubbed off on me. I ran out of car wax last week, so I decided to recycle the empty spray wax bottle, and fill it full of some extra bleach, and use it to kill off some nasty mold. Dumb idea. The bleach seemed to eat away at some of the rubber around the seal of the sprayer, and it would make a drippy mess. I gave up, but left the wet bottle in the garage, next to my motorcycle, to dry off a bit while I cleaned my hands.

I forgot about the bottle after getting a phone call.

Later that day, the bottle had disappeared. I figured someone had thrown it away for me, and I was a bit embarrassed.

This is where it gets nutty.

Our villa building is a truly wonderful copy of ancient greek acoustic technology. In my building, you can hear everything going on in the garage. It echos all through here. When someone drives in, you hear it. When someone shuts the car door, you can hear it. When someone is whispering in the garage, you hear them as if they are right outside your door.

I heard something else later that day. It is a little hard to explain. As I lay resting on my couch, I heard a short of chortled gasp, followed by a panicked yeolp. This was followed by a string of Korean words which had a lot of "ships and she's."

I also heard a thumping sound, which sounded like someone slamming something against the wall.

I didn't think much of it, but decided to investigate. What I saw was priceless.

A sweating, bare-chested 20-something guy, who I recognized as another occupant in my villa, was frantically attempting to dob up a wet mess from his passenger-side floor with a shirt. I could see that the shirt had turned a gray color, and that a large white light spot had formed on the carpet.

The air stunk of bleach.

About 5 feet away lay my spray wax bottle, tipped over and emptying on the ground.

I now fear something will "happen" to my motorcycle. Well, if it does, I know who to ask about it.

Please don't steal!
