First year I started counting at about the 9 month mark....90 days and counting.

The following year I started counting at 180 days...crap hogwan, crap boss and crappy location REI Taebaek Gangwon-do.

My last year I started counting about 60 days but that was more to motivate me to go out and do things, buy some things that I had planned on buying and get together with friends before I left. That last 60 days flies by when you're having fun

I like my school a lot and I am not discontented here.

I am here doing field work for my masters in TESOL. I was only required to be here 6 months for the course but I couldn't find a contract for under a year. I debated trying an "amicable break" of my contract and pay for airfare both ways but that wasn't advised.

My 6 months finished in January. That's when I started counting. I've already recieved the credit points for my class and now I guess I'm feeling counterproductive at times... like I could be working at home in a more multi lingual setting instead of here teaching English to kids.

Once again, I REALLY admire those of you who continue to stay here for more than a year. Is it for the culture, the money, the experience... or what?

Too bad.

There's a hagwon near THIS beach, Hyeopjae on Jeju, that likes six month contracts:

From April to October... oh, it's so tempting...

Nope, only counting the days til contract renewal.

Same here, I get a free ticket home and back when I renew.

Same boat.

More money next contract too - 300k more to be precise!

So I'm gonna have a vacation on a Phucket beach and then come back to Sar-ool, happy as pig in s**t.

It's a hard life. Laughing

New school, 10 days into my contract and I'm counting the days till I leave. Shocked

The school is better than most, but still a distant second to going back home and starting up my own business. Wish I could leave earlier, but I need to save some cash first.
