| Or you could say your family is Korean-American, but you don't speak Korean because you've always lived in the USA. I think I've met one or two Koreans with the last name "Lee". |

| I am Chinese British, 100% Chinese, and I have had no tourble with people wanting to hire me. The fact that I have an MSc from the University of London helps a lot... |

Some hagwons hire exclusively gyopos only, like CDI, and gyopos make a heck of a lot more money than the going rate of 2.2 or 2.4 million won per month. Sometimes as much as twice or three times as much depending on ability and experience. Most short term foreign teachers don't stay on long enough (or whatever the reason) to get to that income bracket.
SAT hagwons hire mostly K-Americans (and rarely Canadians), btw. SAT market is really lucrative. |

Yes I'd like to know too. I tried a search, but got some fatal error message. |

The biggest SAT hagwons are
Steven Academy
Hoyah Academy
Swaton Academy (in Apkujung)
Seoul Language Institute
Princeton Review
Kaplan
I heard that Hoyah is going through some managerial problems, and SLI pays little compared to other places (big volume, cheap class appeal to parents) although they have a lot of hours. And Princeton Review and Kaplan do not have enough classes for teachers to have a lot of hours.
These places are probably all hired out for their big summer rush of teachers needed for the big summer break, but you might check anyway.
Teachers there who teach the SAT test (College Board) and SAT II and AP tests make as much as 10 million a month at the peaks with a good school with a lot of volume of students (lots of hours), at the worst teachers make 1.7 million, but they don't need to show for hours they don't teach.
There are other hagwon's that teach SAT prep too (actually quite many), but they are not as well known or as well established in that line of business (they teach conversation and writing to elementary, junior high students too in addition to SAT prep, or SAT prep is not their main business).
Ask around. |

| I don't use search engine on Dave's but use google. It works well. Always put in "site:www.eslcafe.com" and a space before any search word. It's not that great, but it is much better than the search engine on this site. Fast too. |
