Hi. I'm interviewing for a public school position soon and they've asked for a medical certificate of good health. Does anyone know what this entails? I had heard an x-ray, blood pressure and so on. How much does this cost and should it be on a particular form? Thanks for any replies. Jonathan.

Its a basic medical check up:

Blood tests, check of pressure and general health....

Cost will vary depending where you get the check.

If you're in-country(Korea), go to a larger hospital and tell them that you want a yearly physical for the National Medical Health Insurance done. The cost is 30,000won. They check your vision, height and weight, and blood pressure first. Then, they'll give you a chest x-ray, maybe an EKG(I think that's what it's called...I had one last year, but they didn't give me one this year), maybe have your teeth looked at(they did that last year, but not this year), and then you have to pee on a strip and give blood. That's it. It takes three days to get the results. If you're back home, there's a form on the EPIK web-site that you can print that should do the trick.

Are you still at home?

What I did was go to my doctor and he gave me a basic health check and then wrote a letter on headed note paper saying that he had examined me and that I was healthy.

The letter cost me about 50 GBP.

My school accepted it without a problem.

I've had to get them done here, and they cost around 30,000.

My school paid for mine. However dealing with doctors in 'bongo bongo' countries is a pain. get your done abroad if you can.
