I've listened to the first Ricky Gervais series. It was funny enough. However, I'm not sure I'd pay $1.99 to listen to Karl talk about monkeys and Gervais shout "bollocks!"

I've downloaded some Penn Jillette podcasty thing and that doesn't seem too bad so far. I also downloaded something called "Urban Coffee" and was bored of it after 8 minutes.

Anyway, anyone have any podcast favorites?

Oh hey, I didn't see this thread before starting the one in Current Events.
Sorry about that...
I'm still surfing around trying to find good free ones that are available on a daily basis.

I snag the previous day's Penn Jillette show every morning and listen to it on the way to work. You can usually grab it from the fansite by 7:15 in the morning. They've also got a tracker up with all the previous weeks' shows.

Good stuff. Smile

This one is a good political one, an hour of Stratfor discussing Iran-US relations which touches on Iraq, Saudi Arabia, North Korea...
(65 minutes long, you need to register, but it's free).

i'm sorry i don't know how to find/get those podcasts through links on the web but...

If you like the rock, you should check out the cbc radio 3 podcast.
It's all indie music from accross canada and, like 85% of the stuff on that is pretty damn good!

Wow! It's been nearly two years since my last posting and this one. Anyway, now that I'm back to living in America, I love listening to "Wait, wait, don't tell me" from NPR--it's free. If you enjoy American political humor, it's a very good one.

I wish, though, that "Car Talk" was also podcasted.

I always liked This American Life but they sell their shows.

isn't that the one with David Sedaris?
I think that they may have their OWN website that you can stream from ...i'd have to ask my friend about it.

I like KCRW's "Left, Right and Center" - should be able to find it via your music store in iTunes, under public radio.

That's the puppy. I think Sedaris had a more minor role with the show even before he got popular. Other stars are Sarah Vowell and David "Canadian" Rackoff. You can stream but you can't download (there are some work arounds, mind you, but they're all done in real time).
