I'm curious. I never even knew there was a country north of America till I came to Korea.
Really. Sorry. But, I tried Tim Horton's coffee and it was pretty good.
Oh yea, hockey is pretty cool, too.

Could the poll be anymore categorical?
I mean come on...where is the option for "not really" or "with a passion" or "none of the above" or "other (please elaborate)" |

I've noticed that you have two separate posts dedicated to this subject. Could you provide some examples that lead you to this conclusion? |

A Canadian woman in Korea once suggested that the United States has its priorities all wrong.
She asked me how the United States managed to jump into World War II with all four paws right after suffering a major depression.
I told her that I have wondered the same thing myself. |

Canadians don't hate the US. Hate is too strong a word. Saying they are occasionally annoyed would be more accurate. But, why should you really care so much about it? Americans complain about their government all the time. Heck, many Americans don't even like each other all that much. Just look at the regionalism, the political devide, and the racial tension. |

Of course not.
But the ones who do are the ones you remember.
A few years ago, I took two new teachers from the hagwon I was working at to lunch to welcome them to the school. One was Canadian; the other was Scottish. During the course of the conversation, someone mentioned that the actor Michael Moriarty changed his citizenship from the USA to Canada because he didn't like the US government (felt he was being censored on TV). The Canadain said, "Good. I like him. I hate Americans." I said something like you do? and she said again that she hated Americans. I bit my cheek and finished lunch. To this day, when I see her at Geckos, all I can think is what an ignorant, pissy harridan she is. I've been told by others (I no longer work at the school) that she is a sweet and kind person, but for the life of me, I don't buy it. (This probably says as much about me as it does her.)
The day after lunch, an American businessman working in the middle-East get his head chopped off by his kidnappers. It took a lot of self-control not to tell the new teacher she had one fewer American to hate. |

Like I posted on the the other Canada - America question.
A large percentage of teachers in Korea are strange/weird/freaks. A large percentage of the teachers are Canadian. Don't not judge the average Canadian by the average teacher in Korea, they truly do not represent the majority. Most Canadians like Americans or don't really care what they think about Canadians and Canada. |
