My friend brought a laptop over and tried to use my internet connection, KTF, megapass or something like that and couldn't connect....
I could swear that I used another laptop before (besides my main one) and was able to go online from my place and update Windows... what's up? She actually called KTF and they tried to walk her through the problem but still nothing...
It's a TG Dreambook, specs.... ?.... Windows XP, 4 USB ports.... etc...
i dunno...

I'm no expert but I guess it will not connect directly unless it has the KT software installed.
Otherwise, you will need a "switch", allowing connection of several computers to the KT modem. |

| My friend's laptop couldn't access my wireless in my apartment either. It worked if she hooked it straight up to the router, though. I think it had something to do with Netpia, or whatever service she was using. It would only allow her to access a certain ISP. |

| we used my ISP number, unhooked mine from the wall and hooked hers up in its place but still got nothhing... |

| I think the only problem might be that she is connecting the wrong way. Maybe she's using her log-in and p/w? Get her to connect using your log-in and p/w. I'm assuming you're connecting the ADSL cable to the port in the back of her laptop, right? I'm not 100% sure, but I think it has sth to do with where her service is in the city. I was able to connect with my wife's laptop for a little while using her log-in and p/w(she has a separate acct for her business) and then it just died. I changed the log-in and p/w to the one we have at home and I've never had a problem since. If you have a Nespot router like we do, she should be able to connect regardless. Don't ask me, but I think it may have sth to also do with the kind of acct you have set up(as Wangja mentioned, sometimes switches could be an issue). XP is not an issue as long as her laptop has the proper drivers installed...all you would have to do is go to "Create a new connection...broadband". |

followed by ipconfig/renew
should do the trick. |

You can also release/renew your IP address by right clicking the 'local network' icon in your taskbar and selecting "repair connection". |
