I'm was just wondering if anyone out there has kids with them in Korea and if so----where are you sending them to school? I don't really believe that Korean Public School will be an option. Just curious about the foreign schools and the prices! Thanks |

There are private schools in the larger cities all over the country. Prices vary, of course, with Seoul being (I think) the most expensive. Here is a partial list of foreign schools (though definately not comprehensive, as my school isn't listed) with links to the schools' official websites: http://www.shambles.net/pages/countries/kr_schools/
I think most families who can't afford or don't have access to a foreign school end up homeschooling their kids. |

Private schools are financially out of the question for us, unless I get a job at one, so our girls will be going to elementary school at a local school. We plan to move back to Canada when the oldest is ready for middle school.
I have thought of applying to the Songdo New City International school when it opens as I would love for my girls to get a year of Western style education before they head home. |

Do you work at a hagwon? You could enroll them in some advanced classes, unless he/she is a heartless dog, your Director probably would let you do this for no (or very little) money.
*EDIT* I just reread the op... so, when applying for jobs you can use this as a bargaining chip. "Oh... I really like your school, but this school will enroll my kids at no charge." |
