|
|
| My buddy was having problems transferring backup copies of games onto his hard drive, as some game files were excessively large and couldn't be modified directly. It was suggested that nkpatcher 8.1 be downloaded and utilized. Great, but how, he asks? |

AFAIK, "excessively large" files have NEVER posed a problem with any game (to date) being transferred to an HDD that has enough space.
The only possible problem is that there is a file whose filename is too long to be stored on the HDD. This can be remedied by renaming the offending file, and then hex-editting the entries for that file in the default.xbe executable to reflect the truncated filename.
There's only one game to date that requires the use of NKPatcher's virtual DVD drive (coupled with the ISORipper.XBE) capability, and it's TOCA Race Driver 3.
Which games are giving your friend problems?

Yes! So how do I do it?? And my buddy has no DVD burner by the way...so it would have to be direct transfer via FTP. |

Read this thread over at Xbox-Scene. Pay attention to rocky5's posts. He's the one who discovered the solution. |
