I've been using this FREE software on my PDA for a few years now. I've used it in London, Paris, Madrid, New York, Vancouver, San Francisco (where people on each side of me on the BART also told me they used it) and mainly here in Seoul. It's great, just type in 2 stations and it will give you the shortest route, number of stops, any connections, and info on which main stations are on the route so that you know which platform to use. Also has a return trip info button as well as which stops to use for certain landmarks eg Namdaemun market it will tell you which exit to use at which stop. Also gives approximate travel time including walking between connections and even has a list of every station on each line. It has subway and train systems for over 300 cities around the world you can download, but you only need download the cities you want, not all of them. If you have a PDA, and use the subway in a large city, this is a must have.
