|
|
This morning a wee little scraggly puppy sat under our pram on the steps of our house. My son said, "look at the puppy."
So, I gave it some milk ham and sweet potato.
When I came home from work it was still there. Hungry as ever and scrawny. Wagging its tail looking for love.
Now, I've eaten their meat, don't get me wrong about being a sop.
But, now, I don't know what to do. It sits outside on the steps.
My wife doesn't want it. I wanna give it a bath and give it a go.
But, I don't know what to do 'cause I shouldn't keep it.
What on Earth do I do? Let it starve?
I fed it, but took the bowl back inside. Will it get the message?
It really is an innocent creature.
Constructive advise please. |

the fastest way to an animal's heart is thru it's belly. he's hungry..not sure he'll leave if you take the bowl away. what would you do if you were starving? so, the plate leaves, but they gave me food yesterday, they just might tomorrow too. there are a million animals like him. you can ignore him, and not feed him, and he'll go away. to what, who knows. it's not your problem, or your fault. you were kind, and that's nice. or you can take him in and give him a bath and food and some lovin'. and then try to find him a home. |

That really is a tough one. I'd say bring him (?) in, give him a bath and simply accept him as a new member of the family. I'm sure your son would love him, and he just MAY grow on your wife in time...
However, if the wife is dead set against him setting one paw in your place, then i suggest continuing to feed him outside, all the while searching your behind off for a suitable home for the little feller. Try friends, friends of friends, veteranarians, etc., until you find the guy a nice home. Meanwhile, he's never actually IN your home or anything, so it's not like he's "your" pet/responsibility, but you know he's fed and where to find him when you do find that suitable home.
The drawbacks to this plan are: 1) your son may get very emotionally attached to the animal if its not gone quickly, which would make for a sad scene when it goes, and 2) the food outside may multiply the ordeal, with 3 stray dogs and several cats soon taking up temporary residence outside your door.
I still think it's the best way to go, though. Lord knows, i can't do right by every animal in Korea, but i can do my best with the ones that wander up to my front door... |

I agree -- bring the poor baby inside, at least for now. If you can't adopt him, maybe one of these groups can help you find him a home:
www.koreananimals.org
www.withanimal.net
And please get him neutered before he goes anywhere -- or spayed, if "he" turns out to be a she.
Best of luck. |

There might be some people on here who would be interested in having that puppy. Would you please post a picture of it on here. A picture is worth a thousand words. Thank you. |

I hope this board never dies. I have really come to love some of the characters around here. For example, when I saw that igotthisguitar was the last poster on this thread, I starting hoping for a sort of puppy-CIA or covert-dog-surveillance-plot post. |
