Man...you are spuing the old warmed up crap we are spoon fed in Ontario about Quebec...
Look around...how many provinces (also minorities in some cases, population wise) are complaining?
Also, Toyota is not owned by Canada but the incentives they got for settling in Ontario were backed up by Ottawa...see the link? Perhaps not.
Not saying separatists are right. Saying the federal arrangement as it is favours us ontarians much more than any other province as has done so for a long, long time.

Many.
So why is Quebec the only province that the Liberals spent $100 million to "sponsor"?

What incentives did Toyota get from Ottawa? I am willing to believe this but I would like to see a link or something to prove you didn't just make it up.

Dude, you're wrong. A lot of provinces get treated worse than Ontario but Quebec is, for sure, the favourite child. |

This has to be the best wrong understanding of the sponsorship scandal ever!!!
The Liberals did not "sponsor" Quebec they illegally sponsored agencies that supported the Federal option (i.e. anti-separatists) and greased the palms of party supporters in the process....

They received tax break incentives from Ottawa to settle in Ontario. The push came from Ontario interest groups whp put pressure on the Liberals...1-2-3...new factory in Ontario.
Finally Quebec is certainly not the favoured child of the canadian confederation...Ontario is. Also, Quebec is used as a scapegoat for every problem in the federation. How many times as the fed gov. used the Quebec question to distract political opinion from a certain issue...?
This is just politics of course but there is no rationale under which you can say Ontario is not getting the sweetest deal out of the current federal arrangement. Did Quebec get concessions? Yes they did! They used what they have: demographic weight and influence to get more power over their own affairs...something many other provinces want as well... |

You are right. I am wrong. Your links support you. Thank you for teaching me something. |
