|
|
Today I discovered the 2nd fridge we have in the garage has been surreptitiously overthrown and occupied by my husband's homebrew beer. I am not pleased with this big, ugly metal thing in our fridge along with an even uglier C02 cannister. When I said "beer fridge" I had bottles in mind, NOT KEGS AND THEIR COMPANION GAS TANKS!!!.... which have entailed gutting the fridge of all shelves and therefore any other useful purposes besides BEER
Mr Canuckistan, being the good husband that he is, immediately set about trying to find a solution for chatelaineous fridge dismay and on the net discovered how to make his own "kegerator" from a Sanyo mini fridge...
I think it's bloody brilliant/ingenious and a big "thank you!!" to the guy (it had to be a guy!!) who once upon a time figured this out--it's far cheaper ($199) than buying a ready-built kegerator which can run up to $1,500:

You see? This is how the early Americans drove the best early beer pioneers to Canada! They had nagging wives who wouldn't let them experiment in the garage!!!
AAaarggh!
Edited: nice pics! Love the Taps design, nice work! |

Well then, the pioneering beer hubs shouldn't be too disappointed when said nagging wives have thrown out the leftovers of the 20-lb turkeys hubs were looking forward to making their favorite giant sandwiches with, because the extra fridge is full of metal, gas, and beer
Otherwise, it is a cool system--drilling a hole in any fridge isn't the first thing that would come to mind! |
