Does anyone know if it would save a significant amount of money to buy computer in Taiwan instead of Korea?

I bought a laptop in Taiwan - can't recall any significant difference in price. Don't forget though that standard equipment is the non-standard 110 volt, so you have to change plugs for almost everywhere else in the world.

Keyboards come with Chinese characters (non-simplified I believe) as well as Roman.

big bump.

I'm going Taiwan in a few weeks and I might buy a laptop there a friend knows of some good deals.

Wangja, you said you got one there, and I assume a few other people got one, too.

What did you have to do to make it work in Korea (and with Korean plugs?)

What did you have to do to use hangul in the programs? (I plan on using hangul for at least word processing.)

I'm a putz when it comes to technology, so these questions are a little vague/stupid. If it turns out to be too big of a hassle I may just hold off and buy a laptop in SK (even though it'd be a few hundred thousand more expensive.

Thanks.

as I recall prices in the PC discount areas are rather attractive - there is a building opposite/(North of) the main train station near (North of) a major hotel (sorry to be so vague) with like 5 stories of nothing but PC hardware.
It's a few meters from the main road. Easy to miss, until you have you eyes peeled wide.
There is another flea market/market area..................
