nope, sounds exactly like what I went through except it wasn't diagnosed as the flu. The doctor diagnosed me with a severe case of the common cold combined with a throat infection. Missed two days of school this last week and one day the week before because of it.

I feel for you, but if you worked where I did for the past 2 years you'd be working anyways, as I did a month with brochitis. That was REAL fun!!! Even did 3 parent observation classes in that condition!!!

It is ... the Chuck Norris bug.

I got it Tuesday, the 28th. Just some light sniffles, then BAM! Sore throat [roundhouse] kicked in two days later. I thought the weekend would be enough time to recuperate. But the sore throat got worse. Still, I went to work Monday; throat got even worse. Went to the doc, got some meds. Still, sore throat intensified. It peaked in the wee hours Wednesday. Man what a battle.

For three days it hurt to swallow. Here it is Saturday and there is still some lingering soreness.

I battled it with about 3, 4 liters of water a day, (Princess, you'll want to do this against bronchitis as well; brings out the phlegm.) Hot soup every meal or so, and oranges, plenty of oranges. Even cold, the citrus feels good on the throat. And a liberal dosage of Halls cough drops.

I cannot speak and only type messages to colleagues and post on Daves as my only mode of communication.

This has been going for a week and my throat feels like ass hemorrhoids on paprika powder. Passing gas and passing verbage are both out of the question, but I do it in class because I troop along.

Students cringe because of the seeming pain I seem to suffer. I have never had as much attention and respect in class (I secretly think they are betting on me when I will just swell and pop from the throat).

I get sinus complications every spring here...yellow sand sets it off for me...so if you see a hacking, horking, whistling waeguk chances are it's me...

...plus all the little germ monsters everyday doesn't help...

I've been here 2 years and have been sick with everything from ear infections to TB symptoms. Prior to coming to Korea and was lucky to catch a simple cold. Last month it was pain in my legs and arms. Now its gone. And it was not arthritis!! The stuff comes and goes!!

I've got it, too. While I was eating supper Friday night, my nose started to run. Dragged myself out of bed Sat. morning and taught for three hours, got home at 1:15 and have been sleeping for at least 15 of the last 21 hours. I have never in my life done that. Every muscle and joint in my body aches. Coughing hasn't been too bad. Chills are killing me: flannel shirt and the ondol turned on trying to keep warm. Light headed.

After seeing the yellow dust thread, I'm wondering if there is a connection. I've never had a problem with it before.

Yes, Hwang-sa. Was rough last night. Holding in reasonably well now, thankfully.

I too have caught this mysterious bug. Last night I started to feel achy, at first I thought i was just stiif from all the hiking i have been doing, this morning I thought death itself was calling, and today is my first day teaching my own class, I hope they will be mercyful.
