This is a typical "Mob" hit. I went to school with a guy who was arrested a few years back for killing someone, and leaving their body in a car at the airport in Toronto.

This link is for my homie Joe Doufu, who didn't know the Hell's Angels were a criminal organization before gettin' hisself schooled in these forums:

I guess when they called themselves a motorcycle 'club', that sort of threw him off...

You would have to live under a rock to not know the Hell's Angels are a Gang.

Or just be the mayor of Canada's most sophisticated, cosmopolitan city...

Quote:
Toronto Mayor Mel Lastman said Monday he didn't know the money spent by Hells Angels gang members in Toronto was probably gained through organized crime.

"This is blood money, over the weekend when I spoke with them, I didn't know that," Lastman said, after meeting with Toronto Police Chief Julian Fantino.

Lastman provoked outrage by shaking the hands of a Hells Angels member on Friday. The picture of the handshake was splashed across newspaper front pages and on television over the weekend.

"I think these guys are here to have fun, and not hurt anybody," Lastman said after greeting the bikers Friday night. The 400 or so gang members were in Toronto for a celebration of the group's first anniversary in Ontario.

(sorry for the anti-Toronto dig, there. I've got lots of great friends in that city, and it's pretty much the only place I'd ever want to live in Canada besides Edmonton or Vancouver. But ya gotta admit, the Lastman years were pretty much a comedy goldmine. Not that Klein's any better, but then no one ever holds Alberta up as a bastion of enlightenment.)

Bah, don't be sorry. My childhood was there, not to mention tons of friends and family, but Toronto still sucks Wink Personally, I would want to like in Vancouver or Halifax, though there are still a lot of towns I haven't been to yet and can't vouch for yet.

The guy chose a crusaders theme for his son's barmitzvah (one of his legitimate ones, that is); if he doesn't know what a pogrom was then I guess it's entirely possible he thinks the Hells Angles are just fun-loving guys who like big bikes. What's he up to these days? Back to selling discount furniture in late-night cable TV ads in North York?

The saddest- or perhaps funniest- thing about Mel being mayor: he was elected.
I don't think anyone in/from Toronto should be criticizing Americans about the re-electing the Bush Admin.

The second saddest/funniest thing is that he was RE-ELECTED, in an election where the only candidate to stand against him was an egomaniacal environmnetalist who had recently been booted off of the Edmonton city council.
