This comes from this thread (Love Story in Harvard...)

What's been said so far ...

Seeing that I am some kind of masochist, I am looking for a DVD copy of Love Story In Harvard. I would like one preferred if there are English subtitles.

If anyone knows where I can find them still or has one for sale, please drop me a line here. Same goes for both seasons of "Hello Francescia". I have both seasons but there are NO subtitles and so I didn't even unwrap the plastic.

I am looking to make a deal.
Hope to hear from someone soon.

Cheers,
Polarbear

The sitcom/drama about the vampire family? Kind of like a Korean version of "The Addams Family" or "The Munsters"? Glad to see that I'm not the only non-Korean fan in the universe. Embarassed

So, are there any other "Francesca" fans out there?

Is it possible to get DVDs of it with English sub-titles?

Me, me..!
The first season was so painfully funny... That drama guy nearly killed me. Seriously, my friend and I literally did a lot of ROTFLM(O)AO...! Very Happy It's not only funny but also has some good metaphors for social irregularities. I didn't watch season 3 though.

Hmm, there sure are DVDs..

With English subtitles? Sorry I'm not sure.

http://www.bitwin.co.kr/

This is the publisher's website. I checked the details for ȳ üī DVDs, then there was no particular mention of subtitles(ڸ).

Btw, it seems you are good at digging out enjoyable aspects of Korean entertainments among bunch of craps.. Smile

I've seen the show a few times but apparently they had a major turnover recently and the writing isn't as good anymore.

The first and second seasons are painfully funny. Most netizens named the show the sitcom of the year for 2005. The show resurrected the career of . 's vampire was gay. He was possibly the only gay character on Korean television.
By the third season, most of the original cast and writers left, and the show was just not good anymore. was funny throughout though.
There was a discussion of Hello Francesca DVDs with English subtitles on the koreanfilm.org discussion board. Allegedly, because of the plays on words and cultural references, the translation is very bad.
Quite a few internet DVD retailers offer Hello Francesca DVDs with English subtitles. Most of them translate the title as Goodbye Francesca, so searching for it can be problematic unless you use that title.

A brief description and synopsis of the show can be found at the korea contents website: http://www.koreacontent.org/co/m/mbc111/product.html?grp=GC00004553&cid=CA00007166

Romania, 2005. One of the last vampire families on earth decides to disguise themselves and live among humans until "the glory of their empire" revives. They are sent to different places all over the world that are considered safe by their leader. However, a group of vampires takes the wrong ship and happens to come to Korea.

On board, they run into a timid and unlucky man Doo-il. One of the vampires bites him by mistake and he becomes one of them. They promise Doo-il that they will return him into a human on the day when their leader comes to find them. He doesn't have any other choice but to live with them. They are disguised as a family of five and start new lives in Seoul.

Can they really go back to their country safely when their leader comes to find them? While watching the vampires who disguise themselves as a human family, the viewers will witness both their human sides and the humans' inhuman sides. Can Seoul be a safe place for them?

Kyeon (Acted by Lee Kyeon)
Unlike his perfect appearance, he's extremely simple and rather ignorant. During the worst famine in vampire history, he survived on chicken blood, but it seems that his brain was damaged in the process. Thanks to his handsome appearance, there are always women around him, but it doesn't take long for the women to figure out there's something missing about him.

Hey, that rings a bell ... Remember this guy?

Ok so I have only found seasons one and two, with two different families. I thought there were only two seasons. Anyway they are still in their plastic as I don't speak a word of Korean. Anyone looking to make a horse trade?

Like I said I am looking for the whole series WITH SUBTITLES. I am going to check the links with a Korean friend and see what we can find.

Thanks for posting.

Success!

I ordered a set from a few places I found at E-Bay.

Now I just have to endure the excruciating wait until it arrives.

E-Bay, -the place where you can buy hurricane rainwater or an air guitar
(I'm not making this stuff up. Jay Leno's "Tonight Show" does features on this from time to time. One guy actually paid money for an air guitar, case not included. Who was it who said, "Nobody ever lost money by underestimating people's stupidity"?)

Edit:

I also found these:

Thanks. I remember the episode where they kidnapped Andre Kim. I thought, "I wonder how funny this could be if I understood more than just a fraction of what they're saying."

Even the synopsis is funny.

Doo-il (Acted by Lee, Doo-Il)
He's the unluckiest man in the world. On the day when the only woman he ever loved refused him, he runs into Francesca and becomes a vampire. He's a 40 year-old single man who has never had a real girlfriend. He believes that he can be a human again as long as he lives with the vampires until "that day." Since he knows about the humans well, he constantly worries about everything. He seems timid and chicken-hearted, but he's actually a very sweet and warm-hearted person.

"Oh, woe is me. I'm a chicken-hearted, 40-year-old man who's never had a girlfriend. And I've been bitten by a vampire. Can things possibly get any worse?"

I've been interested in buying a couple of Korean TV shows but they don't come with Korean subtitles and that is bloody annoying. I don't give a crap about English subs - yeah I'll understand it, but it won't help my Korean.

Give me a Korean TV show with Korean subs and I'll buy it in a heartbeat.

Ok I have a complete series for sale. Korean with Korean subtitles on DVD. This vampire series (which I thought was pretty damn funny) is for sale. Still in its original wrapping, let's talk through PM.

There's no shortage of Korean TV dramas on DVD.

For example, here, here, here, and here.

The trick is to find something that's good, because while there are a lot of good Korean movies, good Korean TV dramas are a much rarer beast.

ah.. but the real trick is getting them with Korean subtitles. I clicked on 5 of the titles on the pages that you listed - only English subtitles which is of no value to me - I want Korean subtitles.
