Remember that book your parents gave you the day you were born? You know, the one with the title "Life's Little Lessons" printed on the cover. It had things like, "Look both ways before crossing the street" with colorful graphics illustrating the various points.

My parents tried very hard to teach me those lessons. I still remember Mom saying, "Ya-ta Boy, see this sign on the park bench? It says "Wet Paint". It does not mean "Pee Here", it means "Don't Touch". That's on page 62 of your book.

One night, when I was 10, I came home from sledding, with my tongue bleeding. Mom said, "Ya-ta Boy, honey! What happened? Did you crash your sled?" I said, "No, wommy. I wicked my swed!" "Oh dear", Mom said. That's in the next chapter."

Well, today I ran into a situation that was not covered in the Life Manual, so I learned a lesson the hard way:

I learned that muffins, baked at 190C will melt a Zip-Lock storage bag unless you let them cool off first.

What are some lessons you have learned the hard way?

when you decide to empty the anal glands of your dog, prepare a large area with easily wiped down surfaces because even when using a lot of tissue, the squirting power is quite strong.

you can hurt yourself if you experiement with different ways to approach the squat pot.

How about lessons that you never seem to learn even after falling into the same traps again and again.

- Hangovers and drinking. "Oh, I'm never gonna drink so much again!" Yes, you will!

- Getting Dumped when the fun & money runs out. "Won't get fooled again by"evil" women." The next day- "Hey! I'm gonna give this another shot!"

- Believing the compliments of Koreans. "Oh, you're so handsome!"
"Really? How about a date?"
"Oh, no. Sorry!" Very Happy

Lesson learned in 6th grade: Never light fireworks indoors at your buddy's house in his room with brand new carpet with intentions of putting the fuse out real quick after freaking him out.

Taking a pee pee in a wide mouth mountain dew bottle in a moving van can be extremely difficult while driving.

Asking the woman when her PMS will kick in will get you kicked in the head.

Make a mental note or have your cell phone or PDA's anniversary reminder mode remind you for you, and then get her drunk the night of to ease the edges.

Learned that one now in my tenth year of marriage. (Actually, she knows I'm so clueless now after so many years that she will actually drop little hints before it comes like "oh, my stomach feels like it's gonna hurt today.")

I think Ya-Ta Boy and I were missing the same pages in that book--

Tupperware muffin tins that are made of plastic and say "For Microwave Use Only" shouldn't be used in a regular oven -- even if there are no other ones around.

I was only 13, and I was babystting and made muffins with the children.

I had to call the neighbours (who I knew) and my mother to come and help me stop the fire and clean the melted plastic from the oven - then I was too scared of what the people would say when they got home so I made my mom stay with me - fortunately they just laughed and thought it was funny.

But my mom still made me buy them a new Tupperware muffin pan with my babysitting money. Crying or Very sad

Cooking and drinking soju is not a good idea.

Putting Pine-Sol in a glass (to dip a sponge in and clean) and drinking soju
at the same time is not a good idea.

Writing monthly reports and drinking soju is not a good idea.

Talking to your mother on the phone and drinking soju is not a good idea.

Hum, doing anything important while drinking soju is not a good idea.,
