My grade 1s came in about 10 minutes before afternoon class and were all freaked out. They started saying stuff in Korean, I figured out later they were talking about ghosts, and they had seen one outside. So I put on my sandals and we took a look outside. They told me it was behind the shed and I ran and "scared" it away. They were all happy then Wink We then spend five minutes surfing google for ghost pictures (all huddled around the computer).

That's alright then. I was having visions of big, 1st Grade highschoolers being scared of ghosts. Laughing

Some of the girls in my school thought a ghost haunted the third grade girls' bathroom. Apparently, ghosts are scared away by fire, so they dropped a match into one of the trash bins and you can imagine the rest. Ever smelled burning crap? You do not love the smell of burning crap in the morning. Trust me.

Needless to say, those girls were given a well-earned, verbal thrashing. And the ghost never reappeared.

A few years ago, I created a survey for my older elementary students to administer to each other.

Quote:
10. Do you believe in ghosts?

(Ten students answered "no".)

Quote:
15. What is your greatest fear?

(The same ten students answered "ghosts".)
