Remember when disco ruled the clubs and airwaves? Everyone was booging and rollerskating to the beat.
Even Queen ("Body Language," "Another One Bites the Dust"), the Rolling Stones ("Miss You"), Chicago ("Streetplayer") and Kiss ("I Was Made for Loving You") released disco tracks so as not to fall behind. |

Often when I am alone with the radio, and they are playing the "Best of the 70's!" (Sunday mornings between 6:30 and 8:00), I will confess to getting a tingle up my spine and a slight tremor in the innermost regions of my soul when I hear the opening bars to K.C. and the Sunshine Bands THAT'S THE WAY I LIKE IT. |

| Disco was the white version of soul. K-pop is the Korean version of disco. |

| Jamiroquai is one of the few bands that has consistently produced quality disco albums in the past 10-15 years. They're keeping it alive and well. Check out "Starchild" on their latest album...funky as all get out. |

I know for a fact that Boney M would agree.
How funk became disco- that's the greatest conspiracy ever, and there should have been congressional hearings about it. |

| That explains a lot of things, not the least of which is how the disco revival coincided with the rise of E. |

Disco when combined with anything "soul" ruled!!!!!!!!!
Work, work, those cars never seem to stop coming, work , work, my fingers to the bone, work , work, working at the car wash......
Fashion wise, I think it was too way out there but otherwise, play that funky music white boy.....

Im a huge huge disco fan!! Sister Sledge, Chic, Earth wind and Fire, Jackson's off the wall..and so many others!!
It did so much for music in general and has had a huge impact on the music of today. If you listen to lots of house music especially the soulful, vocal variety, its absoluely full of chic samples and samples from disco classics. Disco has returned in the form of house music, and its hardly that different except just beefed up and modernised- only taking advantage of modern production capabilities and quality nightclub soundsystems...
In fcat disco was what spawned the house scene in Chicago, which opebed the door to electronic and house music.. actually....
If anyone's interested, watch part one of this, disco music plays a huge role in teh early days.. Anyone into house musc should check all these epsides out anyway. Amazingly informative documentary- Channel 4 docs rule.
Enjoy- Yawsah Yawsah Yawsah!!

You said it, Bulsajo, but we can't ignore the atrocity that became the P-Funk.
I have that first album you posted. Boney M rocked my world.
Jamaican + German + Disco + Russian Monk = unforgettable classic. |
