... anyone seen 'em here? I'm trying to work out a program to keep my dog from barking so #%*& much & this seem to be a good solution for when I'm not at home.

Send a PM to SweetBear - I think is the exact name. She used one for her barky dog and I think had good results. I'm not sure if she still cruises this forum or not.

I double checked - it is SweetBear. I'm sure she would be glad to share her experiences with it.

Yes I had success with it, a little on the pricey side and make sure that refills are readily available, you may need one after a month or two depending how much woofing is going on. Was able to purchase through my vet. " Corky" went from yapping to growling ( a low growl) within a few days. Also I was able to tell when she had been barking as it left a pleasant scent in the room. If you have a puppy, be sure that the collar is tight enough ( though not too tight) or you may find it chewed through on the floor as I did the first week.

SweetBear... I'm glad to hear it works. I've read mixed reviews online for them. I'm hoping they'll work for my dog.

At 118,000 it's a bit pricey, but if it's for the better of your dog it's worth it, right? I'd certainly get one for mine if she had a barking problem, but she's nearly silent. Ear-piercingly loud when she does decide to bark (corgis are like that), but that's pretty seldom, and usually only directed at me- not when she's alone.

I think most dogs in my neighbourhood wear electroshock collars or nothing at all. Am I suggesting the OP try it? Hey, do you think I'm looking to be branded as a sadistic Mediaeval torturer nutcase? Well, I think that will happen in any case when I reveal that I used such an apparatus once when I had seeded a new lawn and the dog was wanting to get in there and dig holes. It was not an indoor dog, and while there was plenty of space for him to play besides the lawn, all that newly tilled soil was too much of a draw. He simply could not control his instincts, and I wasn't in the mood to administer constant beatings.

The kit came complete with:

2 sado-mediaeval-behaviour-modifying-shock-therapy-jolt-o-rama collars (zap! zap!)

1 long electric wire (the "circuit") to create an electrified field, which in my case was the seeded lawn, the circuit running along the perimeter thereof.

A bunch of little yellow flags that you'd poke in the ground at intervals along the circuit.

If you want to tell me how cruel I am, that's cool!! Please, fire away! Both dog and lawn are doing fine today, though they belong to someone else now. Would I do it again? Probably not. I'd considered planting a few posts and running some chicken-wire fencing. But I was sure that dog would have tried burrowing under it the moment my back was turned. Or, just tether the dog somewhere, but that would lead to howling and back to electroshock collar. (citronella or other hippy-chick aromatherapy approaches weren't available in Korea then, or I might have tried them)
