Not sure if anyone else is interested in this, but 2 movies that seem very relevant to today's world:

"Syriana" - (not the best movie, but sure hits home on some things) I think the director was trying to replicate the movie "Traffic" but somehow it all seemed a lot less effective in this film. What is interesting is the glimpse into the seedy world of petro-politics, and the vast differences between what really goes on and what they 'tell the press'.

"In this World" - an account of one Afghan boy's perilous journey from a refugee camp in Pakistan all the way to England. I'm not sure how much of it is exactly true, but it is based on his own experience.
Again, not the most "entertaining" movie, but it was an eye opener in some ways. Makes one wish there were something more I could do to help.
