There's gotta be more skaters out there than just lonesome ol' me.
Favourite skatespots?
Wanna hook up a session? |

You're in Korea; why not go skating with some of the Korean skaters? They seem to be everywhere. |

I haven't skated in ages. I'd probably kill myself if I tried now.
That being said, I knew some Korean skaters who used to shred around Hyewha. |

seriously...you're kidding right? I'll just take it as a compliment.
As far as skating with Koreans. I used to be a member of the Suwon skateboard club and still skate with a bunch of my Korean friends. A lot of Korean skaters take a rote memorization approach to skateboarding....ie. repeating the same trick over and over again for 4 hours. Whereas, I prefer screwing around, going fast, and drinking beer.
If I go to the Youth Center in Suwon or the Dongdaemun spot then I'll meet up with tons of Korean skaters. that's not a problem. |

There are a bunch of foreigners in the punk scene who skate, and usually if you show up in the park in Hongdae late on a Saturday night there'll be a skateboard or two around.
A friend of mine decided to penguin-slide on a skateboard a few weekends ago in the park and gave himself these.

tony hawk is 37 and makes more money than you, your dad and 3 of your friends combined. and he skates.
i think it'd be much better if we chased a ball or puck around. that's constructive. mature, even. maybe if things go wrong and we feel miffed we can start punching each other. and then get drunk.
i went skateboarding for the first time in ages here. went to the little "x-games park" down by the river in banpo-dong. lots of fun but now 3 days later my aged ankles feel like they've been hit with a hammer.
might be time to get a new board... |

Skateboarding after middle school = loser.
Tats, especially when they're as cheesy as the one seen in the pic depciting a, lol, machine gun, don't exactly scream "upward social mobility" either. |

yongsan family fun park is inside the base. It's for army children and, yes, full protective gear is required. Apparently, my friend has recently spotted a concrete park in Seoul so we might check it out this weekend.
There are x games parks all over the place (I think they're built by Doosan or somethng). Generally they suck, pre-fabricated ramps made from slipper sheet metal aren't too enticing. There is one in Anyang that I want to check out because the ramp surface looks decent and all the ramps are really mellow. |

Well he's a national socialist American soldier, and the tattoos are the least of his worries. |

I have seen skateboarders hanging out at the entrance to the Olympic Park in Seoul. |
