Michael Moore recommended her for president.

That seems to be the most serious reason for her not to be.

I talked with my co-workers about this. I usually do. We have a serious dialogue in-house about these things.

Why not Oprah?

She can't be bought off. She'd have the most serious grass-roots support of anyone in America.

She's universally trusted.

The best argument against her is that she doesn't have the "political experience".

*beep* that. Those with the "political experience' are corrupt. Washington is a process of corruption.

Seriously, why not Oprah?

I'm not American, don't have a vote, but I promise to shoot anyone who votes for her. Just kidding, but I would kneecap you.

Can't stand her self aggrandizing, attention seeking and oh so insincere persona. That and the fact she would make a complete balls-up in regards to foreign policy, not that you could do much worse than the current number one. It pains me when you guys talk about drafting in celebs for office. There are so many better qualified people in your country, imho.

Oprah would be much better as an apolitical, non-Hillary style First Lady. I think she'd be a big boost to any Democratic contender seeking the "concerned mother" vote. Seriously.

Seriously, who will be up for election in 2008 that's better?

While Dem vs. GOP fighting is the standard, the biggest problem in Washington on both sides is buying off politicians.

Oprah can't be bought off. She is sincere and in a very independent way.

Are you suggesting you'll find someone more sincere among the two corrupt political parties?

Who?

If you're gonna knock Oprah, I want a better alternative.

Who?

I assume you're saying that Oprah would be immune to political corruption.

What makes you think that?

A 20-year foundation of not being bought off.

Success wholly unrelated to a lobby.

If you ask, then I'll ask. Who will she be bought off by?

Moreover, she has a consistent and believable public record of acting for what she sees as right.

Again, who will run for office in 2008 with a better record?

Who would be more convincing in terms of honesty and forthrightness?

From what I hear, she has a staff of 300 people who do exactly what SHE tells them to do.

One reason she can't run is that she's been shacked up with Steadman for years, without benefit of clergy.

Second reason she won't run is that she has never expressed an interest in being president (as far as I know).

Third reason: we've never had a president from outside the political/military establishment.

The nominee in '08 will be Gore if he wants it. (And he does want it.)

The main reason is because Oprah is the antichrist.

Ok so if Oprah's President, and Dr Phil is Secretary of State, who would be Secretary of Defense? Dr Ruth?

I think Jon Stewart should be Sec. of Education (because he is a smart cookie), Jay Leno Sec. of Transportation (because he rides cycles) and Dave should be Sec. of Health and Human Services (because he had major heart surgery and knows about that kind of stuff). Put Rush Limbaugh in charge of the War on Drugs (he has enough hypocrisy to suit that position).
