Hey
I'm currently I final year uni student due to graduate in the next few months. Down the road from me theres an English First School which does the 4 week TEFL courses, 120 hours, standard drill, which I'm due to start. The deal is its half price if you take up a years contract with one of their franchise schools in Indo. or China, or pay the full and go it alone. However I'd much prefer to go to Korea primarily because the pay is like 400 pounds better a month and really could do with that to help the old student debt and future traveling. I was just wondering what you guys thought? Is Korea miles better? From what I've read it doesn't seem to hard to get a job out there. |

English First is very dodgy. I did some research and it seems a lot of the schools suck. The same can be said for Korean haggies so its not a huge deal, but EF makes you pay for their TEFL course. If you want a TEFL cert go with a CELTA and then look for work, at the moment Korea is an employees market so you dont even need that (though I think they're worth it).
I'd steer clear of English First, the same deals can be found independantly and then you get to verify the school. |
