Hi,

I'm planning on taking the big jump to teach in Seoul this August. I have a ton of questions, but the one I haven't been able to find anything on is the posibility of Bikram Yoga in Seoul.

Anybody know if this might be an option?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

California Fitness in Seoul are advertising classes in Bikram Yoga, but I don't think they have started yet.
Here is a link to their group classes schedule which is updated weekly:

They've been doing them at the one in Apgujeong-dong for months now. I think, but am not sure, that the Myeong-dong and Gangnam branches have them too.

FYI, you can negotiate the price when you join- I walked out after talking to a guy there when I first wanted to join and he literally ran down the street in the rain to tell me about the "membership special" he "forgot to tell me about before" (yeah right).

No way the Myeongdong Calif will have it unless they move its a tiny club but Apu has it, its also the nicest Calif Club.

Also seen signs in Korean around Hongdae for it.

Hint with Calif I've heard is to get your membership in Bangkok, its much cheaper and it will be vaild here in Korea

Both Apkujeong and Kangnam station fitness studios offer yoga and all classes are in English. You can check the californiawow website, it has the yoga schedule on there somewhere. The yoga isnt cheap and you generally have to pay for a few months in advance, however it is totally worth it!

Enjoy~~

Obviously everything is relative...however to me, not cheap is 370,000 won for 2 months of membership. It is easy to negotiate the price of a regular gym membership, however in my experience, California arent so keen to negotiate the Bikram prices. Obviously the longer you are willing to committ too, the cheaper your fee should be. Still 'not cheap' though...
