Friends and I went to a local samgyupsal resturant the other night after work. At a nearby table were some intoxicated but friendly ajummas. When we got up to pay the bill we all walked over to put our shoes back on but one of the people in our group couldn't find his sandals.
It seemed unlikely that anyone would mistake them for their own being that he is a size 13 foot and they had been placed on the highest shelf but low and behold they were not there. We stood around dumbfounded for a moment when the restuarant owner came over and explained that the likely explaination was that someone had worn them into the restroom. Fair enough.
Moments later one of the women who had been sitting at an adjecent table returned wearing the sandals. She apologized profusely - what a funny situation we all thought, no harm done. That was until we all noticed a rather large puddle of unidenfied liquid had accumulated in the heal of one of the sandals.
Now gentlemen you might not be that familiar with the difficulties posed by free-squatting over a large "in-ground" toilet after you've kicked back a bottle or two. It's hard to hold your balance, with your legs restricted by pants and loosed by intoxication...long story short the stream can wander.
Though I nearly had a accident myself watching the owner get toilet paper - (the irony) the Korean table napkin and sop up the inside of my friends sandal. Wow, that's book material. |

Did your friend actually put the sandals on?
I would've hopped around on one foot until I had the soiled one sterilized. That's freak nasty. |
