Sorry, but I got 5:

Why are Irish theme bars outside of Ireland so 'glib'?

Why do these bars attract so many overweight people?

Why do these bars at the end of the night resemble the last scene in Magnolia with the green frogs dropping from the sky?

Why do firemen chasing their 15 minutes of fame, with moustaches and names like Lenny, Leo and Lester, have such a struggle to hit their drums in time on St Patricks day in 'da Big Apple'?

Why do wide eyed tourists on the sidelines from backwaters such as Ohio, believe that this these marching bands are the 'real Irish experience'?

These Irish-American questions. The OP is Irish.

If "A" see #2, if "B" see #3

2. Can you spot a Protestant by the way they dress, walk, etc...?
A. Yes
B. No

If "A" see #4, if "B" see #5

3. Can you spot a Catholic by the way they dress, walk, etc...?
A. Yes
B. No

If "A" see #6, if "B" see #7

4. Good on you.

5. What the hell kinda Catholic are you?

6. Good on you.

7. What the hell kinda Protestant are you?

Being Northern Irish I can also double as an oracle of all things British. Unless a real Brit starts their own.....

I really don't know but the Irish have always respected artists within their community. You'll see sings saying "These seats are reserved for musicians" in many Irish pubs. Young Irish who want to have a go at music are usually encouraged.

20-30 years ago, when U2 were starting out, there was a lot of unemployment which, like many other societies, produced a lot of music acts.

How well do the Irish get along with the Scottish?

They get along well with the Catholics. The Catholics are very anti-English. But Scotland has a very hardcore Protestant (read: pro-Unionist, that is, pro-Union between Britain and Northern Ireland, pro-Monarchy) element - possibly the majority, I'm not sure. They don't get along very well with that element of Scotland I suspect. Generally relations between England and Ireland are very good these days because everybody's wealthy.

England is infamous for lousy, rainy, gray, gloomy weather. In the movies, Ireland is always green. Is the weather in Ireland really any better than English weather?

It's a very wet part of the world, period. This is due to prevailing northwesterly winds which originate in the Gulf of Mexico. I've never been to Ireland unfortunately but in Britain's case, the west of England, south Wales and Scotland are extremely wet whereas the east of England is considerably drier. London is a very dry city which has huge water shortages. Not many people know that.

Why doesn't Ireland Irish it up a little? Only 350,000 use Irish every day and their Wikipedia's barely over 3,000 articles. Estonian has 1.1 million speakers and their Wikipedia's already past 17,000. Can we please Irish it up a tad, and what will it take for that to happen?

Laziness, basically. It's much easier to limp around on the crutches of English.

Because they're bloody morons.

Hope my contributions are helpful.

Politics everytime.

In Ireland politics and religion are intertwined but that's more to do with allegience than faith issues.

There are so many Irish accents. From the soft, Donegal whisper to the bleeding-eardrums Belfast shrill. Believe me. They are not all attractive.

No idea what other Irish people like in the way of accents but I used to really appreciate the accent of whichever girl was giving me the time of day!!!

Quote:

As often as it takes North American tourists to get on the plane to Ireland and spend their dollars.

Quote:

Not a very good one! I gave that up when the age of reason kicked in. When I was about 10 years old!!

Funny you should mention how Catholics and Protestants walk though. Perhaps you have heard something about that......
One could imagine that the Protestants in N.I. have a jaunty, exaggerated kind of walk. Almost like the "Billy-boy" walk they use in Orange marches. Their shoulders and hips going up and down like a demented lioness.......of course, this isn't really true but.......it might be a little true!!

Quote:

Because they try too hard. When the builders are asked to knock lumps of plaster off the walls to make the place look old, dis-shevelled and rustic.....well....I despair. On the other hand, Irish pubs around the world heighten my chances of getting Guinness and decent whisky no matter where I go.

Do you know they were making fake Irish bars in Ireland in the 80's? It's true. Culture eating itself.

I was onto that Bulsajo. The 'e' or no 'e' question.
Much to my shame I believe most Scotch whiskey to be superior to most Irish whisky. The big difference being that there are hundreds of Scotch whiskies and only a few (maybe about 10-12?) varieties of Irish whisky. Scotch was much better marketed to the Japanese and Americans in the 50's and 60's. It became the benchmark.

I've enjoyed talking about my home country so much, but, I'm a lazy bog-trotter so I'm not sure how long I can keep this level of thinking up for.
