I was wrongfully put on the Immigration blacklist. My employer called them and lied breaking article 39 of the labor law. I magically got things cleared up after Immi told me it was impossible.

Putting him on a blacklist ain't the thing to do even if you could.

Who are you to put your co-worker on a blacklist?

If you don't like the guy why don't you blindside him in a dark alley and duke it out?

It's kinda startling to see foreigners names in print on a blacklist...guess it's a mirror of how hagwon owners must feel when they see their own names on a board like this one with incriminations such as 'liar' 'cheat' etc.

From what I gather from reading the blacklist site, some of those people disappeared in Japan while on a visa run. I think quite rightly those people should be exposed because they have used someone else's money to fund their trip. They are criminals. They ruin the reputation of those who go about doing things honestly.

As for there being a blacklist at immigration office, there is simply not one. I once asked some immigration officers directly. They will only look into cases where someone has done a previous midnight run or have gotten say 5 E-2 visas in the space of a year or something similar.

So, unless ya done something really really nawty, I don't think you should have any sleepless nights about blacklisting.

I've thought about what many of you have said and I must concede your point. It is wrong of me to meddle in another person's life. I am simply frustrated.

To gwang-ju boy:

I don't understand your comments about selling out. I didn't mean to say that this guy is a bad teacher and I am the greatest. Everyone has their own style and that's fine. Some people work hard and some don't. That's fine, too.

That said, I don't think it's off-limits to criticize a fellow foreigner's overall attitude and behavior. Do you disagree? Should we all just support each other blindly? Have you never been frustrated or angry at another foreigner?

I know for sure that if I were working in America with this person I would feel the same way. But again, I believe involving myself is wrong.

Not everyone is cut out to be a haggie monkey in a banana suit. Laughing
No shame in that.
The OP was talking about blacklisting the guy though....that's a might stiff punishment in my books.

So he's no good with kid's in a haggie. Not many of us are, especially if we have become accustomed to some kind of structured educational system.

Without some more specifics, I say why not cut the guy some slack? It's only another month or so. Confused

I agree you should just bite the bullet and let this idiot leave at the end of his term. No sense getting involved.

As for the sell out tag...don't worry about it, it as a stupid comment to make not to mention pretty hilarious when you think about what it could mean.... Laughing

Some folks care enough about the teaching profession to get ticked off when some idiot does a pi$$-poor job of it -- especially if said idiot has a degree (or advanced degree) in education. Perhaps it IS meddlesome, or perhaps it is an attempt to make the teaching profession self-regulating...in either case, I am fully in support of getting rid of the deadweight in any profession, and this guy sounds like he is not only not helping things, but is doing damage....

My suggestion is to formulate a plan to slowly drive the fool insane. Start by getting a copy of the key to his apartment and when he is rearrange everything.

Also do your best to convince him that next friday is not a holiday.

If he is not getting the point find out his email account and send him fake messages from a "girl" he met last weekend who is really "hot" and set up a "meat" and greet at some subway station miles away.

While he is gone empty out everything he owns from his apartment pack it all up in bags, and leave it in the hallway with a note saying:

Dear Cheese *beep*.

Move back to america or you will be killed.

The OP has already admitted that his hagwon has problems, so why attempt to blacklist a guy who gets stressed about it? So what if the guy has a bit of an attitude? You can bet dollars to doughnuts that everyone has to work with someone like that. Does it warrant a right royal screwing over? Has the guy been banging the OP's chick? Has he been committing sadistic acts with children? No. It's workplace politics hoss. Get over it.

G-boy...I understand your response but come on now...a sell out?

To whom and in opposition to what?

Shoukd we back up other foreign teachers no matter what on the simple basis that they are fellow westerners???

The guy is a sell out because he is wants to screw over a fellow westerner stuck in a foreign land merely for showing a bit of an attitude in the workplace. The OP's eagerness to have this guy deported is surprising to say the least. If this chap had been behaving inappropriately with children then the OP would have my full support. It appears however that this guy's actions fall well short of meeting the criteria for deportation.

Dude. Relax. People here are generally wanting to help you. They are right when they say there are two sides to the story. Just relax. We understand you had and are still having problems with the "piece of crap" teacher. Good luck and we wish you the best.

Just my guess, but that blacklist is likely only for that particular recruiter. If other recruiters happen upon that site, well maybe they might be influenced against a teacher . . . but I don't know if there's really a list circulating around like that. To the OP: grow up.
