Are we having a frustrating day? Good god the vitrol that this guy is getting dumbfounds me. And why is it I notice that anyone who comes to the forums and inquires as to why they aren't able to find a girfriend is instantly labled a "loser" who has no skills and can't score back home? Newsflash - most people I know who are here wouldn't be here if they had the perfect match waiting for them back home. Thats not to say that people come here for that reason, they obviously don't. It took me about 6 weeks to find a girlfriend here. And I can tell you that it's not easy for me to find women either here or at home. Maybe its my personality but I have always been regarded as a unique person. But when I DO find that someone she is usually a person who most other people will only meet in their dreams. My girlfriends are high caliber. So on the one hand you could say that I am a loser because my gals are few and far between, but I think that the quality of women I do get weighs against that assupmtion. Lighten up everybody. |

100% agree with xingyiman. I would recommend Cyworld to anyone who wants to meet new people - it's not a dating service but it's even better in the way that you can find out a lot about a person through their page before you contact them. You can register with a copy of your passport sent through email.

6 weeks is good. i've been here 2 and a half years, and still looking. (and we're all unique.)  i don't think the OP is a loser at all. i'm just bitter 'cause i'm a single canadian girl, and all my guy friends get korean girlfriends easily and quickly, and i'm happy for them, but ya know. sometimes i wish i were more than 'the drinkin' buddy,' as they look over my shoulder for the perfect korean girl. see, bitter. you girls/guys have any good ways to meet korean guys here?  |

If the OP is serious, it isn't the fact that he can't "get" a girl. In that case, I'd feel sympathy for him. His speech, cander, etc. reeks of someone here for the punani. That's all. Fly half way around the world for that? LOL.
Now...if he were to come onto this board and had been sincere (in his speech and methods of communication), then ok. I would have never said a word. |

To the OP, women, no matter what the country, can smell desperation and will flee accordingly. Trust me, I know, I was one of the dateless losers.
Find something else to do besides thinking aout how desperate you are. It also sounds like you may have a little bit of culture shock. Find something to do. Go hiking, go to different places for the weekend, go to the gym, something. Work on seriously learning the language, that can also help and there are women who will appreciate that you're trying.
2 points, that may not be appreciated but will be true, if you're emailing or text messaging a korean, lose the geek speak. English is for most is their second language and they don't need to learn a third one. Also, I saw your picture when you talking about your resume, and bluntly, you're a big guy who to some Korean people may seem a little scary. I know because while not big, I do look different. From looking at how young men dress, it seems that the women here like guys who are soft, pretty, and not huge.
Why the focus on Korean women? Don't forget there are other women here who can also be interesting and may be well traveled and worth talking to.
