On my calendar May 1 is black but May 5 is red. And I have to work on Monday. My conclusion is that May 1 is not a national holiday. Some of my Korean friends have the day off. It must be a company thing.

I think it's comparable to American holidays like President's Day. Banks and government workers get the day off. The rest of us have to work. At least we get Friday off. And a bunch of one day holiday through the summer.

It's a bank holiday. Government workers (and government schools) will have the day off. Most will not.

I have it off Smile

Not me, but I don't mind. Mid-terms are coming up so I'm doing an elimination quiz to review their textbook materials. Should be fun. Smile

I am supposed to get paid on the 31st of every month, but the bank was closed yesterday and today so I have to wait until tomorrow. A real asshole.

Eh? I don't get it.
If my payday falls on a weekend or a public holiday I get paid on the nearest working day to that date.

At my public high I'm also supposed to be paid on the 31st, but when I know that the last day of the month falls on a weekend I remind the head of the English Dept. to make sure that I get paid the Friday before - and he's always come through. (He's also lent me money whenever I've needed it -like to buy a cheap plane ticket ...)

Another tough week! Rolling Eyes ... Midterms started last Thursday, and I had no regular classes Thursday or Friday - just an overtime elementary kids evening class. Mid-terms continue here through Wednesday, so I have just two elementary (overtime) classes on Tuesday evening, and another one on Thursday - No regular classes on Thursday again, though, because of "physical exams" for students...Thank God that Friday's a holiday! (Gives me time to analyze my Kentucky Derby picks I email to my brother... Cool )
