Nice. Finally someone talks about the elephant in the room when GW has to sit and take it. I wish US had a President question time similar to the UK's Prime Minister question time. Bush's quick wit would really shine then. |

Yeah, Madeline Albright was on Jon Stewart last night talking about that meeting she and a bunch of ex-white house big wigs had with Bush, and I think she used the word "bizarre" to describe it. She said he is just like he appears on TV- (in my words) a bumbling idiot who doesn't listen.
It was supposed to be a meeting for advice from the eminence gris of previous administrations, but he just spoke down to them and sent them on their way.
She said she went to speak the plain truth to him, but he just doesn't listen.
I am sure he just dismissed Colbert as a left wing crank nut job. Good God, he was funny, though (Colbert, that is). |

Props.
Props for finding that and bringing it to our attention, Bo.
That was great.
And props to youtube.com for providing what would not have been available for popular consumption. |

the clips are even on wikki now...
In fact, it seems to have been quite a thing....quite a HUGE thing
the jon stewart quote "That was ballsalicious. But holy shi1t!!"
search around the internet...you can find that it was censored, removed from coverage that lambasted by ALL of the major news orgs.
It's freakin hilarious!!!
The daily show and all of it's products are single handedly (it seems) humbling the two biggest institutions in america.
I wonder what people think of that? |

The Daily Show has been embarassing the rest of the media for a good 6 years now. Even with the jokes aside it would still the best news program in the country. |

Ditto, more or less (but my post disappeared). Also check out Bush's speech to the same dinner (also on youtube), it's pretty funny, and he really took the piss out of Cheney (more so than Colbert!). |

Colbert has cojones. I liked the Helen Thomas bit in the vid Colbert showed. She's apparently not called upon at WH press conferences much anymore because she scares the hell out of them by asking the really hard questions. |

Ahh, server casualty... I thought maybe it was because of my linking a cartoon image of Buster Gonad and his Unfeasably Large *beep* from Viz comics. I think I siad said something like 'It's official, Colbert has the biggest balls' or something.
Bush's "speech" at the dinner:

It can be downloaded from Blue Yoyo or torrentspy.
I honestly thought he wasn't so funny in comedic terms so much as he completely dressed down the president and his people (and the media) in front of everyone.
Colbert had 20 minutes in the bully pulpit to take down the bully puppet. |

So brilliant, I changed my signature forthwith. (Should have gone with the glacier metaphor thing though...)
And if it is gone from youtube , triple props to the OP for bringing it up as soon as was done. |

Yeah, it was amazing. Better than when Stewart took down those Crossfire chumps.
The thing is I'm sure Bush didn't know Colbert was being satirical. |
