my dog? I do not have a family of my own and am attached to my 6 year old English Setter that I have raised since he was 7 weeks old. I had three dogs, and had to downsize 5 months ago to my one and only Deuce. Does anyone know what the procedures for bringing a dog to Korea would be if it is possible at all? I can't imagine having to get rid of him. Any help would be gratly appreciated.

I know it's possible because my co-worker brought her large dog to Korea with her from Canada.

I'll ask her later and report back.

Customs/immigration are very easy with a dog. I brought two in March. You need to have a current health certificate and rabies certification, which (according to some websites I checked out) should be more than 30 days valid. For my dogs, they didn't so much as look at them.

Check with your airline as to their requirements, including many that will not fly pets during hot summer temperatures and specific kennel and cost guidelines.

Living in Korea with a pet is another story. Consider the size of your apartment and make sure pets are permitted. There are several instructors on this site trying to ditch their pet because their landlord has objected to its presence. Also, consider your work schedule, which may require you to be at your job for 8-10 during the day.

Good luck.
