I am still in California and I will be arriving in Seoul next week. I was debating, if I should bring my router to Korea. I just bought this router a few months ago and I got a real good deal on it. It is the Belkin Wireless Pre-N Router and it works great. Should I bring this router or am I wasting my time. Will this even work in Korea? Are good routers easily available without paying an arm and a leg for it? Thanks |

Why not bring it? Routers are pretty light, so it's not like you are adding a lot to your baggage weight and, besides, once you get back, it may be obsolete... might as well use it while you can. The only thing is that you may need a voltage converter for the plug since I kind of doubt the AC adaptor has the voltage or cycle range to be compatible with plugging it directly into a plug here (I know my D-Link router wasn't). You can probably get just as good, if not the same router here, but it will be more expensive than what you paid at home. You should also be aware the most ISPs discourage customers from using their own routers as they want to hit them up for an extra equipment rental fee. |
