| Just when you thought the art of remaking cheesey 70s and 80s shows couldn't stink any worse, along comes this. |
Also this:
Ice Cube will topline the adaptation of the 70s television show Welcome Back Kotter. The ABC series which ran from 1975-79 centered on a teacher who goes back to teach at his own inner city high school. The troubled kids gang was led by Vinnie Barbarino portrayed by a young John Travolta. Ice Cube takes the role of the teacher at the high school in South Central LA vs. the shows Brooklyn setting. The comedy is written and directed by Tom Brady.

Yup. Him and Edward James Olmos.
Castillo was my favorite character on that show.
Coolest character on television. |
Edward James Olmos was given a chance to reprise his role as Castillo, but turned it down.

| I'll wait for the Nash Bridges movie. Cheech Marin and Johnson had very good chemistry, I think. (Actually, I never watched the series till I got to Korea.) They're also running Miami Vice episodes on Korean cable now, but aside from the fact that the Miami area is a great setting for a crime-fighting show I haven't found it as amusing as the L.A. series... |
