I've tried a Dave's search, checked out the English website of Koreapost, asked my Korean friends to help, but I've still got no definitive answer.
I've bought a digital piano in Korea that can be packed into a box, weighs 20kg, but still can't find out the dimensions of packages that can be sent overseas by seamail. Does anyone know for sure?
Also made some enquiries to moving companies listed in the newspapers here but they're not interested in moving only 1 box.
If my big box is a no-go will have to sell |

Why don't you take the measurement to a post office and ask?
I've done a search on their website - they mentioned about how much it'd cost but nothing about the size. |

I sent stuff out of Korea before and was told by the staff in the post office that to send by post (surface) it had to have an outside maximum dimension of 2 meters (length + circumference).
They cut the box down for me right there at the counter to fit the requirements. |

Go to the Post Office. They sell boxes of different sizes and can tell you how much it will cost for each size box (the real price is a combination of the dimensions of the box and the weight). |

Thanks ttompatz. The staff member at my post office didn't mention anything about the dimensions to me, but my friend found out the same info as you - that length + heightx2 + depthx2 must not exceed 2 metres. The length alone is 150 cm. Bugger about the moving companies not being interested in moving my 1 box. So who wants to buy a digital piano??? |

Skip the moving companies... find a freight forwarder or logistics company. They do this kind of thing all the time...(usually air freight) not sure on the cost though...More than surface mail but less than the cost of a courier or EMS.
You can also send by AIR FREIGHT yourself... but you would have to drag it to the airline freight counter yourself. It would also have to be picked up at the freight counter or customs office in your country of destination.
I would like to be more help but you didn't mention WHERE (what country) it is going to... different countries... different solutions |

Thanks for the offer of help. Much appreciated. The piano would be headed for Brisbane, Australia.
I'd take the box anywhere myself to get it home, even lug it to the airport. Would need a little more guidance as to how to organise this, or in organising a logistics company, especially in regards to prices. If it's going to cost an arm and a leg then I'd cut my losses and sell it. |
