A friend of mine has asked that I try to obtain some information for a report that he is preparing on international phone cards.
There are 3 basic pieces of information that he is interested in.
1. How often, on average, do you call your home country?
(a) Every 2-3 days;
(b) Once a week;
(c) Once a fortnight;
(d) Once a month
2. What type of phone card to you use?
(a) Pre-paid card; or
(b) Pre-paid rechargable card; or
(c) Post-paid card.
3. Which phone card do you currently use?
I would greatly appreciate if you could take the time to just answer the above 3 questions.
Thanks for your help. |

I call home almost everyday and I never use a phone card. I have Skype on my computer with a local (Washington state) number. I can call and people from home can call me for $0.02/per minute. Some of my relatives also have Skype on their computer so we can talk for free. Phone cards are a total rip-off. |

I use a pre-paid card called Master to call North America every 2nd week. Great card. You get just under 6 hours for 13,000 won. You can buy these cards at enthic grocery stores in Seoul (Itaewon) and Daegu (around BukBu Bus terminal).
Yeah, it's probably cheaper to use your computer to call home, but I like the convenience of being able to go to any telephone wherever I am to make the calls. |

I use the Ace One card.
Never had any problems.
I call home to Australia for about 2 hours a week.
I get about 10+ hours for 30,000 won.
I live away from a big city and never bother going to Seoul, so I buy my cards online at www.needstobemet.com
It's in English and pretty much sells just the one or two Korean cards
I know people say to use Skype etc, but I find a card more convenient and not much more expensive. Plus, if I use the computer to make a call I'm stopping my wife from using the computer. |
