Although there's been no official annoucement, I feel like the amount of PHP errors on this board has gone down. The reason I put a question mark at the end of this post's title is that I guess there's a new server but I'm not sure. As far as I know, the server has been upgraded and this board is running more smoothly. If so, then I want to say thanks to Dave for making it happen. The reason I post on this board is because it really is a good place to have a discussion. I know, there's a lot of silly crap around here, but overall, it's a good forum for sharing ones thoughts about living in Korea as an expat, and that's not easy thing to find. Thanks Dave. (winks coquettishly)

*ps--I know this is an intolerably self-righteous post, but, hey, somebody had to do it.

Yes. Yes and yes. Fully agreed. You may have varying views about Dave's but, right now, right here is the best way to air your gripe or compliment about Korea.

It's true. I haven't had one pHp error since the switch. Not even at lunchtime. I don't have to wait five minutes for a thread to load either.

I did have a couple of weird random "there was a problem loading this page" errors though...

Dear Dave:

As a user who finds your site to be useful, informative, and, at times, amusing, I would like to say, from the bottom of my heart ...

The page cannot be displayed.

The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties.

But seriously, thanks.

Perhaps feeling the sharp edge of your satirical sword in a recent Yangpa article finally drove him to it.

Never tried to log in at 10 am or 10 pm, huh? Those seem(ed) to be the most common times to get the infamous error message!

Here is the deal. I upgraded to a new server last week, but it wasn't powerful enough to handle eslcafe.com's traffic. So .... I ordered a more powerful server, which went online Monday evening California time.

Yesterday's error message was probably due to me upgrading last night to the latest Phpbb forum software.

All the best,

sperling, are you a newbie...a sock...a troll? Never seen you post on here before. No, good job on the new server, the site is much less frustrating now.
