This is probably a really simple thing that I should have been able to figure out on my own, but I haven't had much luck with it so far.
I bought a Samsung USB memory stick a few weeks ago and have been using it to transfer pictures, movie files, stuff like that, between my home copmuters and the ones at work.
A week or two ago I had two very large movie files (about 350 megs apiece) on the thing and then deleted them while on the computer at work. Last night I go to copy some more files onto the stick and it tells me that it's full. I look for the big files that are taking up so much space and find nothing.
Then I run defrag--apparently those two huge movie files are now complete, 100% frag on the memory stick and can't be cleaned up.
So I've got two questions. First of all, how do I clean this thing up (I'm thinking there's a "format" button somewhere that I've somehow missed until now). But, more important than that, does anyone have any idea what caused this? Do I have a bad stick or did I mess up somehow in erasing it? I really don't want this happening again. |
