One of my grade 4 students said "Teacher, my favorite band is Radiohead". Ok, he is a smart kid but if you are a favorite of a 4 year old then you arent as artsy as you think. |

Doesnt a 4th grader liking Radiohead put Radiohead in the same league as Captain Kangaroo? |

if your music can't be enjoyed by a 4 year old then it's boring...which is ironic since I think most radiohead music is boring. |

Lot's of elementary students I had in the past loved Mozart, Beethoven and Bach: do they suck too? I've had kids sing Yellow Submarine, I Want To Hold Your Hand and Hey Jude until they turned blue. Ergo: Sucketh the Beatles-euh do?
Fallacious logic, J-Man. Like, hellascious fallacious.
Now run along and post some more photos in apology. |

To answer your question: yes. Especially where Bach is concerned;) |

The kids statement is not really proof of anything about Radio. I think they are great, but are going off the rails now and could have been a lot of greater if they stayed with making melodic music with substance. |

I once had a student tell me his favorite food is spaghetti. This obviously proves that spaghetti sucks.

Jesus Tapdancing Christ. The implications...
All the colors suck?
The Jinju Theory of Universal Suckosity.
The only things that don't suck: whiskey and black licorice. Kids hate that crap.
BTW: I love how the "jaded" comment puns with "jinju".
That's sweet. Totally killer. |

Heh, I never got why bach is so revered. Beethoven has him beat on all fronts. Chopin trumps them all. |

From the subjective, I-am-defending-why-I-like-him-best-and-the-others-less point of view:
Beethoven is melodramatic. Chopin is a technician. Bach is divine. |

Chopin is a technician? YEs, he was technically maybe the greatest ever..but to say that shows you just dont get the depth of his music. His music touches deeply. Theres a reason why he is revered by a whole nation, while Bach isnt. |
