Whether you've been trying to learn the language or not, if you teach Koreans you've probably picked up more Korean than you realise. Take a moment to think about it. I want to hear words or phrases you have picked up that are either a) very common and thus useful b) obscure and thus interesting c) especially to do with insults, be they childish or grown up d) to do with describing different kinds of people e) to do with sex and dating

I like this one from the kids, adults don't seem to know it

bing bing = crazy

The sound "Hing" (or in text, "hing~") from women. Denotes mild displeasure with male counterpart. Most often used in conjunction with a dismissive flick of the head. Also a synonym for "tchi!"

Kinda cute. If the girl is 10, not 25. Evil or Very Mad

Trinny, if only you weren't taken..... Laughing

param doongi = playboy/girl

ooahheyo = elegant ( a nice variation on what they expect, eg. yepoyo, areumdawoyo = beautiful )

and life got a lot easier when i figured out that "yogi durshigesoyo?" meant, will you eat it here?

kajigo kalgoyeyo and pojang juseyo = take out

This one will definitely get laughs from your Korean friends....

"Dok beggi poda jang maat"

Literal translation...compared to dok beggi jang is delicous

Meaning...you can't judge a book by it's cover (sort of)

Useful in...somebody says..."You aren't so handsome/good at that task etc"....you cooly respond "Ya...Dok beggi poda jang maat."

ps...please excuse my terrible romanization!

Kaeropijimada = don't bug me
Na bojima = don't look at me
Siro = don't want to, don't like it, whatever
Sanggwan opsoom = i don't care or it doesn't matter
Aiiiiissssssssssssssssssssssssssssh = aiiiiisssssssssssssssssh

As for insults, particularly while stuck behind babo bus drivers, I like to say napbun jaseek or seki or jaseek seki or byongshin seki....well you get the idea.

Napbun jaseek is like b a s t a r d or son of a female dog or a s s h o l e. Mix 'n match with seki which is baby animal and you're good to go.

Actually, yeopgi/yopki/yupki/whatever just means "weird". It can be used in a totally cute fashion, a totally awkward fashion, and pretty much anything in between. It's a pretty rockin' word.
